Typical Camping Gear CheckLIST

The checklist below is the list needed for a typical campout.  If a campout requires more specialized gear or equipment, we'll communicate accordingly.  Of course, this list is not all inclusive but a good reference.

❏ Bring/Wear Class A Uniform

❏ Camping Class B uniforms if you have one 

❏ Scout Book

❏ Personal water container or canteen 

❏ Pen or pencil

❏ Mess kit or plate, personal utensils, and cup

❏ Pocket knife if you have Totin’ Chip

❏ Rain Gear

❏ Layered clothing (extra socks always!!)

❏ Sleeping Bag

❏ Sleeping Mat (if desired)

❏ Hats and Gloves

❏ Flashlight and/or headlamp

❏ Camping Stool if desired (but scout has to carry or attach to pack)

❏ Tennis shoes, Hiking Shoes, or comfortable shoes suitable for running and hiking.

❏ Extra Pair of Shoes

❏ Approximately $10 cash.

❏ Lunch – the typical Saturday sack lunch is needed for each Scout to bring. It can go in a cooler. 

The troop will provide tents, cooking gear, and fire starting equipment.
